A solid understanding of how insurance works and safety-related issues helps to create responsible and informed consumers. The Ohio Insurance Institute and its member companies partner with teachers and other stakeholder groups across the state to help students understand property & casualty insurance, as well as how to protect their homes, automobiles, businesses, and loved ones.
Below are free resources developed by the Ohio Insurance Institute for teachers to incorporate into their lesson plans.

Each March, Ohio recognizes Severe Weather Awareness Week to encourage residents to prepare themselves for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes that typically occur in the spring and summer months. Under Ohio law, high school students must earn one half credit of financial literacy as part of the state’s graduation requirements.
