Severe Weather Safety Resources for Teachers & Students

  • 2018 Severe Weather Teacher’s Guide: Our six-page classroom guide for teachers contains severe weather safety info related to tornadoes, high winds, lightning and  thunderstorms. It includes ideas on how to reinforce weather safety to students of all ages through classroom activities, experiments, research projects, online resources and Ohio-specific facts and figures.
  • Coloring/Activity Sheet: A black and white version of the OII Severe Weather Safety poster. This coloring sheet is just right for elementary-age students to help them learn about tornado safety. It also includes a tornado word search and crossword puzzle geared toward the educational and safety needs for younger students. Download our activity sheet or order a supply using our online form.
  • Severe Weather Safety Poster: Provides tornado and lightning safety basics in poster form. OII annually distributes these statewide to Ohio’s elementary schools.
