We hope you can join us for the 2017 OII Annual Meeting in Westfield Center, Ohio. The events begin at noon on Tuesday, August 29 with a working lunch session featuring Jason Terrell, Managing Director of Business Relations for The Institutes. Jason will be providing an update on The Institutes engagement with online education curriculum as part of the property and casualty insurance industry’s workforce development efforts.
To accompany this session, a complimentary luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. This session and lunch are open to all OII members and their guests at no charge.
OII committee meetings, social hour and cookout
The OII Legislative and Education Committees will meet at 2 p.m. A social hour and cookout follow OII committee meetings starting at 5:00 p.m. OII’s Educator of the Year and speaker awards are the focus of the evening’s festivities. Wendy Pfrenger, program director for the Kent State University Rural Scholars Program, will also join us to discuss the insurance industry’s partnership with the program this summer on a week-long insurance-focused workshop for incoming eighth grade students.

August 30 annual meeting and events
Wednesday’s breakfast will be served at Blair Center, 7-9:00 a.m.
The OII Annual Meeting begins at 9 a.m., followed by lunch and an optional afternoon round of golf at Westfield Country Club. A post-golf reception caps off this year’s activities, also at Westfield Country Club.
The August 30 annual meeting will be held for the following purposes:
- To consider reports
- To elect OII trustees to hold office for the term of three years (2018-2020) or until their respective successors are elected and qualified and
- Other business brought before OII membership

Guest presenters at the OII Annual Meeting include:
Judge Craig Baldwin (Licking County) – Serves as a judge on the Ohio 5th District Court of Appeals. He is a candidate for Justice on the Supreme Court of Ohio.
Sen. Frank LaRose (Hudson) – Chairman of the Senate Transportation, Commerce and Labor Committee
Rep. Robert Sprague (Findlay) – Vice Chair of the House Financial Institutions, Housing, and Urban Development Committee and also serves on the House Finance Committee
Jane Timken (Stark County) – Chairman of the Ohio Republican Party

Be sure to check in at the registration desk at Blair Center upon arrival.
All meetings and events will be held at Blair Center, with the exception of the post-golf Wednesday evening reception, which will be held at Westfield Country Club.
Meeting rooms for the August 29 afternoon committee meetings in Blair Center will be posted at registration. OII is hosting a complimentary luncheon buffet at Blair Center from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. for those attending Tuesday’s events.
Business casual attire is appropriate for all meetings, as well as the Tuesday evening cookout.
Casual attire is appropriate for the cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception following golf on Wednesday.

All registrants are requested to make their own room reservations for the Westfield Inn no later than August 15, payable by credit card (AmEx, Discover, Master Card and VISA) only. Single rooms are $129 per night (plus tax). Contact the Westfield Inn directly for reservations at 330.887.6701. We anticipate that most registrants will be able to stay at the Westfield Inn.
Kindly note: Registrants making reservations after the August 15 cut-off may find their accommodations are off-site.
