OII and Wright State University’s (WSU) Center for Economic Education teamed up to create an online two graduate-semester credit hour course aimed at Ohio teachers instructing students about insurance topics. OII scholarship requirements for Ohio teachers
| Eligibility: | Ohio Insurance Institute is offering a limited number of scholarships to Ohio teachers (instructing in grades 7-12) completing and passing the Insurance Basics for Teachers online course in 2013. |
| Amount: | The $200 scholarship covers half tuition reimbursement upon course completion. Limit one scholarship per Ohio resident teacher. |
| Requirements: | 1) The grade 7-12 school teacher must be instructing an insurance topic(s) in an Ohio classroom, or planning to teach insurance within the current school year. 2) Upon passing the course, the teacher must develop a lesson plan on an insurance topic that will be implemented in the classroom. The lesson plan is to be submitted to OII via e-mail by specified dates which are provided in the scholarship notice. The lesson plan must be submitted in MSWord, PDF or text format. |
| Details: | Scholarship applicant will be notified of acceptance/rejection via e-mail within three weeks of application submission. Scholarship recipient will receive $200 reimbursement within four weeks of OII’s receipt of the required lesson plan (deadline dates indicated in the “Requirements” section above) and WSU’s notification that the teacher has passed the course. |
