The 2005 Web/CD edition of Ohio Insurance Facts is published by
the Ohio Insurance Institute (OII) to provide its readers with information
and statistics pertaining to Ohio’s property/casualty insurance
industry. In certain instances, local and national information is
also provided.
Statistical information is for the most recent year(s) available
at the close of publishing. Updated information, if available,

This edition will only be available via OII’s Web site (www.ohioinsurance.org)
or on CD. The Web edition contains links to previously published
versions of the same information in an effort to become a “live
publication.” The 2005 and 2003-04 CD editions, and limited
quantities of the 2003-04 print version are available by contacting
the OII. All Web sites noted on the Web and CD versions are
live as of 11/05 and can be accessed for additional or updated
information.

In the past 12 months, the rate of shopping
for homeowners insurance has grown 22% among those customers
who have owned their home for 20 years or more, according
to J.D. Power's “National Homeowners Insurance Study.”
65% of insurance customers go on the recommendation of their
carrier or agent when deciding on coverage.
