Wind chill temperature index

The National Weather Service implemented a new wind chill temperature index for the 2001–2002 winter season. The new index shown here, utilizes scientific and technological advancements, along with computer modeling to provide a more accurate and useful index.

The new wind chill formula produces significantly warmer temperatures than the old version and was implemented in November 2001.
